The national highway 108 life passage has been rushed through, and emergency rescue vehicles can pass.

The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission that at present, the national highway 108 life passage has been rushed through, emergency rescue vehicles can pass, and personnel can pass.

The total length of National Highway 108 in Fangshan District is about 99 kilometers. The two-way two-lane highway belongs to the second-class highway in mountainous areas, with an average width of 7.5 meters. It connects four towns such as Hebei Town, Fozizhuang Township, Xiayunling Township and Puwa Township in series like a fishbone. Other county-level highways connected with National Highway 108 indirectly connect three towns such as Daanshan Township, Nanjiao Township and Shijiaying Township like fishbones. After the double-track line of National Highway 108 was destroyed, National Highway 108 became the only access to the outside world in the northern mountainous area of Fangshan District, which was related to the life safety of 88 villages and 89,000 people along the line.

Fangshan Highway Sub-bureau immediately dispatched nine rescue teams to G108 National Road on the morning of July 31st to overcome the difficulties. It took three days to get through Beigou Life Passage in Fangshan District with the best scheme and the fastest speed. In the meantime, a total of 560 people were dispatched and 92 sets of machinery were dispatched. A total of more than 22,000 cubic meters of road gravel, more than 6,000 cubic meters of silt, more than 400 cars of broken trees and sundries, and more than 28,000 cubic meters of roadbed were filled. Through 24-hour uninterrupted operation, the transportation of materials was resumed at the fastest speed.

In the next step, Fangshan Highway Sub-bureau will continue to speed up the work of rushing through the branches of National Highway 108 and do its best to restore and rebuild the highway bridges in Fangshan District after the disaster.
