The most abundant polyphenols in green tea are epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), epigallocatechin gallate (ECG), epigallocatechin gallate (EGC) and epicatechin (EC), which constitute 30-42% of the solid extract of green tea. EGCG and ECG account for about 50% and 20% of the total catechins in green tea. These awkward names actually have great effects on human health. The maximum plasma concentrations of EGCG, ECG and EC in human body are about 2.5 μM after administration of up to 4.5 g decaffeinated green tea solids. Therefore, we tested whether 2.5 μM is still enough to prolong the life of nematodes by inducing mitogen response. Through experiments and summary, we found that EGCG and ECG enhanced the fitness and life span of Caenorhabditis elegans at the concentration of 2.5 μM m. This relatively low dose is enough to inhibit the activity of mitochondrial respiratory chain of nematodes. In addition, the temporary increase of reactive oxygen species may promote the activity of PMK-1, thus promoting the corresponding signal cascade including SKN-1 and DAF-16. These signal pathways can enhance the activities of reactive oxygen defense enzymes, such as superoxide dismutase and catalase, enhance the ability of anti-oxidative stress, improve health level and prolong people’s life span, thus causing adaptive response. As long as the metabolism changes for a long time, the fat content will be significantly reduced.

Although the bioavailability of EGCG and ECG is relatively low, drinking 4 cups of green tea every day for 8 weeks can significantly reduce body weight. It has been reported that EGCG of 50-300 μM can prolong the life of Caenorhabditis elegans. Here, we show that 2.5 μM EGCG and ECG can also reach this concentration, which is enough to prolong life. In addition, its function is to increase anti-stress ability through adaptive mechanism. In this cellular rhythmic reaction, EGCG and ECG initially played the role of pro-oxidant by stimulating the increase of reactive oxygen species. EGCG and ECG show anti-oxidation characteristics for a long time because instantaneous reactive oxygen species burst can induce anti-oxidation defense mechanism. At high concentration, EGCG and ECG may have harmful effects due to excessive reactive oxygen species. This feature has become obvious in the study of cancer cells. EGCG is an amphoteric molecule with hydrophilic and lipophilic characteristics, which makes it not only fully soluble and widely distributed in the body fluid environment, but also allows it to cross the cell membrane and combine with intracellular targets. The unique structural characteristics of EGCG endow it with anti-cancer properties, which makes it not only play a role in preventing cancer at the initial stage of carcinogenesis, but also play an important role in controlling the progress and metastasis of cancer. EGCG can be used for many cancer types such as liver cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer. The antioxidant potential of low concentration green tea catechin is considered as a potential solution to prevent tumor occurrence.High dose of catechin may be used as an anti-tumor drug because it can induce the formation of a large number of reactive oxygen species and apoptosis. It is worth noting that EGCG is more effective than ECG in inducing cytotoxicity of human tumor cells and inhibiting the movement of cancer cells. In fact, EGCG takes only 6 hours, while ECG takes 12 hours to affect mitochondrial respiration, reactive oxygen species and ATP levels. However, these compounds have similar effects in long-term use, and they can have similar effects in prolonging life, enhancing sports and resisting stress!

Catechins can not only trigger cell division reaction by influencing transcription factors and enzyme activities, but also exert direct antioxidant potential by scavenging active oxygen. Although some studies have reported a moderate increase in plasma antioxidant capacity after drinking green tea, compared with the antioxidant potential of glutathione reaching 1-11 mM level in cells, the proportion of catechins with complete structure reaching the target tissue is still negligible. Through experiments, we can confirm that it is necessary to increase the initial level of reactive oxygen species in order to induce the adaptive mechanism and improve the antioxidant performance.

Previous studies have shown that in the cell culture model, after the application of 50 μM EGCG, the level of hydrogen peroxide increased and the level of glutathione decreased in a dose-and time-dependent manner. However, the mechanism of reactive oxygen species formation induced by EGCG and ECG is still unclear. In the present study, we found that EGCG and ECG inhibited ETC complex I. Experiments on cerebellar granule neurons in rats show that EGCG accumulates obviously in mitochondria, and this polyphenol accumulates in mitochondria up to 90-95%. This finding is consistent with a large number of literatures describing polyphenols as compounds targeting mitochondria. Therefore, we isolated mitochondria to study the effects of EGCG and ECG on mitochondrial ETC complex. The separated mitochondria are separated from their natural environment and signal transduction process, and the separation process brings the risk of shearing force destroying the mitochondrial membrane. However, the uptake of drugs by mitochondria depends on the integrity of inner and outer membranes of mitochondria, including the functions of transporters and carriers. Since 25 μM EGCG and ECG are necessary to significantly inhibit the activity of mitochondrial complex I isolated from mouse liver and hinder the mitochondrial respiration of mitochondria isolated from rat liver, we assume that the separation process affects the integrity of mitochondrial membrane, so mitochondria have the potential to effectively absorb catechins.

In addition, we found that the temporary obstruction of mitochondrial respiration is accompanied by the temporary increase of reactive oxygen species (ROS) level and the temporary decrease of ATP, which triggers the signal pathways related to life extension. EGCG and ECG can promote life extension, benefit health and enhance stress resistance when used in low doses.

Experimental results

The oral absorption and absolute bioavailability of green tea catechins in mammals are very low. After ingesting no more than 4.5 g of decaffeinated green tea solids, the highest plasma concentration reaches 2.5 μM m.. However, some independent clinical trials have reported the beneficial effects of EGCG and ECG on health parameters. Therefore, we assume that lower concentrations of EGCG and ECG are still effective and improve the life span and stress resistance of nematodes. In a word, from our experiment, we found that the application of green tea catechin EGCG and low dose ECG can prolong the life span of nematodes by inducing cell division reaction. Therefore, inhibition of complex I caused a transient increase in ROS, stimulated antioxidant defense enzymes SOD and CAT, and activated PMK-1/SKN-1/DAF-16 pathway. In addition, the inhibition of complex I leads to the temporary decrease of ATP level in cells, thus activating AAK-2/SIR-2.1 signal. In the long run, if these energy-dependent and ROS-dependent pathways are reconnected, it will lead to the reduction of fat content, which will be more beneficial to people’s health and prolong their life.

Our clinical trials have confirmed the safety of EGCG and emphasized that EGCG has great potential in fighting age-related cardiovascular and metabolic diseases! The experimental study on the physical and clinical parameters of rodents over time requires further clinical trials to determine the optimal time and dosage of catechins. Finally, these studies describe the additional effect and downstream mechanism of complex I inhibition. Although promising results have been obtained in animal experiments, the low bioavailability of EGCG still raises a question, that is, whether green tea catechin can effectively produce reliable and beneficial effects in humans. Therefore, scientists need more efforts to identify complex I inhibitors with higher bioavailability.

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, China’s railway independent innovation has made great achievements, and its overall technical level has entered the world’s advanced ranks. High-speed, plateau, cold and heavy-haul railway technology has reached the world’s leading level, and intelligent high-speed rail technology has achieved full autonomy. In particular, Fuxing EMU has shown excellent performance in terms of safety, economy, energy saving and environmental protection, and is well received by the market and the majority of passengers. The passenger load factor is 0.7 percentage points higher than the average passenger load factor of EMU. At present, Fuxing serial EMU has been formed, covering the speed classes of 160 km/h to 350 km/h..

To implement the spirit of the important instructions of the General Secretary and deepen the independent innovation of Fuxing high-speed train, several key tasks are currently being organized:

First, before July 1st, this year, the centralized EMU with dual power sources in Fuxing Plateau will be driven into Xizang and Lhasa to achieve full coverage in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). In order to meet the operation needs of Lalin Railway, we independently developed the Fuxing Plateau dual-power centralized EMU, and integrated the high-power internal combustion and electric power systems on the EMU, which can adapt to various complex operating environments such as high altitude, western mountainous areas and multiple tunnels. Many of these technologies are at the international leading level, and some have filled the gaps in the world railway technology.

Second, before July 1 this year, a number of Fuxing intelligent EMUs will be launched in Beijing-Shanghai, Jingha, Beijing-Guangzhou, Chengdu-Chongqing and other high-speed railways to expand the scope of operation experience and let more people enjoy a higher quality travel life. Fuxing intelligent EMU, independently developed by China, was put into operation in Beijing-Zhangjia high-speed railway in December 2019, which was favored by the majority of passengers. This type of EMU has the characteristics of intelligent driving, intelligent service, intelligent operation and maintenance, and the energy consumption and noise in train operation have also been further improved.

The third is to start the "CR450 Science and Technology Innovation Project". In order to fully release the dividend of the developed high-speed rail network, based on scientific analysis and grasping the road conditions, we plan to develop a new generation of new products of Fuxing EMU with higher speed, safer, more environmentally friendly, more energy-saving and more intelligent, mainly through the comprehensive upgrading of the mobile equipment technology of high-speed rail based on the infrastructure conditions of high-speed rail with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, so as to realize the higher commercial operation speed of high-speed rail in China and continuously consolidate the leading edge of high-speed rail in China.

Resolutely hold the political red line and professional bottom line of the railway

Lu Dongfu introduced that railway transportation safety has always been widely concerned by all walks of life, and railway departments have always regarded it as the political red line and professional bottom line of railway work. In recent years, railway transportation safety has remained generally stable through strengthening the foundation to meet the standards, being strict and pragmatic, comprehensively managing, and improving the "trinity" safety guarantee system of civil air defense, physical defense and technical defense. In particular, the spirit of the important instructions of the Supreme Leader General Secretary was implemented, and the railway safety environment was comprehensively rectified, eliminating a large number of environmental safety hazards. Last year, equipment failures caused by environmental problems decreased by 34% year-on-year. At present, 20 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) have formulated and promulgated railway safety laws and regulations, which provide legal protection for strengthening railway safety.

Lu Dongfu said that with the continuous expansion of the scale of the railway network and the continuous extension of the high-speed rail operation cycle, ensuring railway safety is facing increasing pressure and challenges. Continue to consolidate the achievements of railway safety and environmental governance. Focusing on releasing the dividends of developed road network and advanced technology and equipment, we will deepen the transformation of transportation organization, optimize the operation structure of high-speed rail and ordinary passenger cars, passenger trains and freight trains, realize the coordinated allocation of transportation resources, comprehensively improve the utilization efficiency of high-speed rail network, release the freight capacity of busy trunk lines of ordinary railway, and provide support for increasing the effective supply of transportation products; By deepening the reform of equipment maintenance system, we will establish and improve the equipment quality supervision system, and give full play to the application benefits of advanced technology and equipment while ensuring the safety and reliability of equipment quality.

Focusing on releasing the dividend of the new system, we will further optimize and improve the corporate governance mechanism of China Railway by deepening the mechanism reform, promote the modernization of the governance system and governance capacity, and comprehensively improve the level of market-oriented operation under the rule of law; Pay more attention to the equity management of high-quality assets and promote the reform of railway mixed ownership to take a new step. Focusing on the objectives and tasks of rural revitalization, combined with the preparation and implementation of the "14 th Five-Year Plan" railway development plan, we will focus on the deployment and priority protection of projects related to rural revitalization, enhance the systematic and forward-looking nature of railway services for rural revitalization, and better play the important supporting role of railways in implementing the rural revitalization strategy.

Realize the "two-wing Qi Fei" of the Central European train and the western land and sea new channel train

Lu Dongfu introduced that in 2020, China State Railway Group Co.,Ltd. will conscientiously implement the spirit of the important instructions of the Supreme Leader General Secretary, give full play to the unique advantages such as the segmented transportation of trains in China and Europe and the new land and sea passage in the west, scientifically and rationally formulate the train operation plan, strengthen the cooperation between domestic transportation organizations and international railway intermodal transportation, and achieve a substantial increase in the number of trains against the trend. Resolutely build China-Laos Railway into a “the Belt and Road"The landmark project of China-Laos friendship

Lu Dongfu introduced that General Secretary of the Supreme Leader attached great importance to the construction of China-Laos Railway and explicitly requested that China-Laos Railway be built into a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Laos friendship. China State Railway Group Co.,Ltd. has given full play to its leading role at the enterprise level, pragmatically pushed forward the project construction, especially since last year, doing everything possible to overcome the impact of the epidemic, ensuring the smooth implementation of the project. At present, the main civil works of the Moding-Vientiane section outside China-Laos Railway have been basically completed, and the Vientiane-Luang Prabang section has been paved ahead of schedule, and the station building project behind the station has been accelerated. It is expected that the entire track will be paved in June; At the same time, under the premise of ensuring safety and quality, we will take effective measures to vigorously promote the construction of bridges, tunnels, tracks and four power projects in Yuxi-Mohan section of China. The main structure of the station building has been capped, which can ensure the opening and operation of the China-Laos Kunwan Railway in early December this year and realize direct transportation between Kunming and Vientiane. At the same time, we are organizing the development of a 160-kilometer-per-hour power concentrated EMU based on China standards, which is suitable for China-Laos Railway line conditions and reflects the cultural elements of China and Laos. This type of EMU will be delivered and tested before the end of August, and will be officially put into use when the entire line of China-Laos Kunming-Wanzhou Railway is put into operation.

China State Railway Group Co.,Ltd. will also co-ordinate the construction of the landmark project of "Belt and Road" in Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway, comprehensively promote key projects such as tunnels and bridges, and ensure the realization of node targets. Promoting urban green development by low-carbon treatment of domestic garbage

  The goal of "double carbon" puts forward new requirements for municipal solid waste treatment and high-quality urban development. The low-carbon treatment of domestic waste is an important livelihood project, and it is the key support to accelerate the overall green transformation of economy and society and promote the green and high-quality development of cities. The Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Establishment and Improvement of a Green and Low-carbon Circular Economic System issued by the State Council has clearly defined the treatment of domestic waste. "peak carbon dioxide emissions Action Plan before 2030" clearly puts forward to "vigorously promote the reduction and recycling of domestic waste". In the whole process from the generation, collection, removal and final treatment of municipal solid waste, there is a carbon emission that can not be ignored, which is an important aspect that can not be ignored for the city to steadily promote carbon neutrality in peak carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, it is of great significance to accelerate the low-carbon treatment of municipal solid waste, and there is great potential for carbon emission reduction in the whole process from domestic waste production to treatment.

  

  At present, due to the unreasonable and low-carbon production and lifestyle, the amount of urban garbage is still growing rapidly. To strengthen the low-carbon treatment of municipal solid waste, we should adopt a more scientific and reasonable technical and policy path, start with source reduction, reduce the generation of kitchen waste, paper and plastic waste, control the carbon emission in the garbage recovery and removal process, and effectively reduce the carbon emission in the whole life cycle of municipal solid waste, which will be more helpful to promote the carbon emission reduction of urban life, promote the green and high-quality development of cities, and accelerate the realization of the "double carbon" goal.

  

  Reduce with kitchen waste

  Kitchen waste usually accounts for more than half of municipal solid waste and contains a lot of water, which is the prerequisite and important source to promote the low-carbon treatment of municipal solid waste. If domestic garbage is mixed with other garbage, it will seriously affect the post-treatment efficiency, reduce the energy recovery efficiency and increase the carbon emission during the treatment. Reducing kitchen waste from the source is the key path to reduce the carbon emission of municipal solid waste. First of all, we should actively promote clean vegetables to enter the city, and guide enterprises to complete vegetable grading, cutting and cleaning in vegetable production areas as far as possible through publicity and guidance, financial subsidies and technical improvement, so as to reduce the amount of kitchen waste entering the city from the source. Secondly, the enterprise responsibility system should be established, and the responsibilities of vegetable wholesale and retail enterprises, food processing enterprises and catering enterprises in the reduction of kitchen waste should be clearly defined, and the corresponding rewards and punishments should be given to the degree of completion of enterprises, so as to maximize the on-site disposal of garbage and reduce the generation rate of kitchen waste to a minimum. Third, promote the special channels and equipment for kitchen waste treatment in key enterprises of kitchen waste, reduce the water content of kitchen waste and reduce the difficulty of final treatment. Fourth, encourage citizens to control the total amount of food they buy each time, with the principle of eating enough, eating well and not wasting; Encourage citizens to implement the CD-ROM action, pay attention to health and wellness, avoid waste on the tip of the tongue, and do a good job in special recycling of household kitchen waste.

  

  Reduce plastic waste with waste paper

  Be a key area

  

  Waste paper and plastics are the fastest growing parts of municipal solid waste, and they are also the types of waste with the highest carbon content per unit mass. Because both of them are industrial products, they will also produce a lot of life-cycle carbon emissions in their production process. The rapid growth of paper plastics will bring great hidden dangers to control the carbon emission of domestic garbage. From the aspects of product design, manufacturing and use, it is a long-term strategy to strictly control the production of paper plastic waste. First of all, the producer responsibility system should be established. From the perspective of product design, the corresponding reduction principles and targets should be formulated for product design and production enterprises. Consumer goods and product packaging design and production enterprises should be required to minimize the use of paper, plastic and other packaging products in product design, and the packaging design should be as conducive to recycling as possible. Secondly, reduce carbon emissions in the production process of plastic paper, actively innovate the production process, adopt low-carbon production process, and reduce energy consumption. Thirdly, reduce the garbage generated during the use of paper plastic products, promote enterprises and institutions to realize paperless office, and really reduce the use of paper in the office process; Promote consumer enterprises and consumers to reduce the use of paper plastic products such as disposable plates through policies such as separate charges for disposable tableware; Encourage the use and promotion of degradable corn plastics and biological products by reducing the production water fee.

  

  To strengthen the classification of domestic waste.

  Be an important starting point

  

  Carrying out domestic waste classification is the only way to reduce urban environmental pollution, reduce resource and energy consumption, build a good living environment, and promote the green, high-quality and sustainable development of the city. We should scientifically guide residents to strengthen the classification of domestic waste, reduce the negative impact on the ecological environment, improve the utilization rate of resources, and form a green and low-carbon lifestyle. Scientific classification and recovery of domestic waste is a necessary way for recycling resources and low-carbon treatment at the end, which can effectively improve the recycling rate of resources and reduce carbon emissions. We should speed up the establishment and improvement of the incentive system for domestic waste sorting and recycling, encourage more enterprises to participate in waste sorting, recycling operation and technological innovation, and provide life services such as door-to-door sorting to realize the life cycle service of waste recycling; Establish an incentive mechanism for urban residents’ garbage sorting, introduce and improve the point system, and realize garbage recycling through mobile phone applications, so as to obtain corresponding points and stimulate the enthusiasm and initiative of citizens to participate in sorting and recycling; Introduce new garbage sorting equipment, such as smart trash can, intelligent induction broadcasting system, "bag breaker" and automatic sorting station, to help residents realize garbage sorting more conveniently. At the same time, establish a strict punishment mechanism, and strengthen supervision and punishment for acts that do not classify garbage as required. In addition, strengthen the education and publicity of domestic waste classification and green and low-carbon development, so that the concept of green, low-carbon and environmental protection is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

  

  Carbon emission reduction by garbage removal

  Be the key link

  

  Carbon emission reduction of garbage removal is an indispensable key link in garbage disposal and an important hub connecting garbage classification, recycling and final disposal. We should promote the development and use of new energy transportation equipment, replace closed garbage transportation vehicles, and effectively reduce the carbon emissions of transportation equipment. Improve the efficiency of intermediate transportation of garbage, systematically design the placement positions of trash cans, closed stations and transfer stations, optimize the garbage removal lines and methods, and establish a scientific and reasonable urban garbage removal system. Strengthen the environmental sanitation management of garbage transfer stations, improve the transfer efficiency of urban domestic garbage, encourage garbage recovery and removal enterprises to use big data technology to provide new garbage removal services such as online booking and door-to-door recycling, comprehensively optimize the garbage removal process, and promote the green and low-carbon garbage removal link.

  

  To innovate the final treatment method

  For strong support

  

  As the most direct carbon emission link in the process of domestic waste recycling, the classification degree, water content and treatment method of waste will affect the carbon emission of final treatment. We should take innovative final treatment methods of municipal solid waste as a strong support, adopt advanced, green and low-carbon treatment technologies and methods, speed up the elimination of the traditional simple landfill mode, and effectively promote the recycling and low-carbon treatment in the final treatment process by more resource-intensive, green and low-carbon, recycling and eco-friendly treatment methods. On the one hand, we should rationally plan and establish a comprehensive domestic waste treatment base, optimize the final treatment structure of domestic waste such as incineration power generation, sanitary landfill and biological fermentation, realize zero landfill of municipal waste as soon as possible, introduce new generation information technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence to enhance the intelligent level of waste treatment equipment, improve waste terminal treatment equipment and improve the efficiency of waste terminal treatment. On the other hand, we should improve the power generation efficiency of garbage incineration and biogas production efficiency by fermentation, introduce special equipment such as kitchen waste pretreatment and low calorific value garbage incineration which are more suitable for classified garbage treatment, and use new treatment technologies such as garbage pyrolysis and plasma treatment to improve the energy output efficiency of electricity, biogas and hot steam, realize smarter and more efficient energy recycling, promote traditional energy substitution, reduce carbon emissions in energy production, and promote urban green, low-carbon and high-quality development.
