What’s the difference between automatic manual transmission and automatic transmission? Do you know that?/You know what?

The automatic manual transmission has one more manual mode than the automatic transmission.

The difference is that a set of manual shift control procedures is added. Manual-automatic integration allows the driver to control the shift of the gearbox by himself, so as to simulate the manual transmission car and increase the driving pleasure. There is no manual mode in automatic gear, and all shift procedures are completed automatically. The driver can do it in the end. The following figure shows the manual-automatic gear shift diagram:

When the gear lever is set to the M(S) position, it will enter the manual mode.

At this time, you can manually control the gear of the car. For example, pushing the gear lever forward is an upshift, and pulling it back is a downshift. However, this manual mode cannot shift gears at will like a real manual transmission model, but needs the support of engine speed and vehicle speed. Some models with shift paddles on the steering wheel can also control the shift manually, and the principle is the same. The following figure shows the gear diagram of automatic transmission models:

In the bitmap of automatic shift, you can see that there is SL shift below D shift, and there are no words "plus or minus" and "m".

Among them, the S gear is a sport gear and the L gear is a low gear. Among them, in the S-range sports mode, the gearbox will delay the upshift, which is equivalent to the manual gear shifting. The power experience will be better and the speed will be faster, but the fuel consumption will increase. Under special circumstances, such as overtaking, switching to S gear will improve the power by one grade. L gear is a low gear, and then the speed will be limited, and the gear will be locked in the first gear. For example, using L gear when going downhill can effectively use engine braking, reduce the wear of brake pads and avoid thermal overload of brake system.

The automatic manual gearbox in the automobile configuration table refers to AT gearbox, which is also the most mature automatic gearbox at present.

The disadvantage is that the transmission efficiency is slightly lower. Although powershift and CVT gearboxes can also operate in an integrated way, the principle of gearboxes is different from AT gearboxes.

Especially CVT gearbox is a stepless transmission gearbox. In order to improve driving pleasure, several gears are simulated. Even shifting gears will have a sense of frustration.

Powershift and CVT transmissions will also be seen on the automobile configuration table. At present, these two transmissions can also be made into an automatic manual operation mode, also known as automatic transmission, and the operation mode is the same as that of automatic transmission models.
