Tik Tok’s first music App, soda music, began testing: the music library is mainly composed of minority songs and also has a membership system
On February 28th, shortly after Tik Tok Music Open Platform announced that the brand was officially upgraded and named "Hot Star River", the "Soda Music" App, which had been exposed for half a year, finally surfaced.
Xinyan Finance found that Tik Tok has recently started a small-scale low-key test of its first independent music App "Soda Music" in China, focusing on minority good music. The player interface is similar to that of Tik Tok App, and there is little difference between Tencent Music Department and Netease Cloud Music in other aspects. It can recommend songs of interest to users according to their listening preferences and those with similar tastes.
Soda music is the official music App produced in Tik Tok, which helps users find more good music. Although soda music contains "thousands of music libraries", at present, its content is mainly minority songs, and some songs need to be listened to by members.
IT House reported that ByteDance affiliated company Beijing Micro Broadcasting Vision Technology Co., Ltd. also obtained the copyright of "Soda Music Software" this month, with the registration number of 2022SR0248976 and the current version number of V1.0.0
It is reported that soda music is a platform for young people who love music trends. Its R&D team includes members from music and audio backgrounds such as Netease Cloud Music and Himalaya, and has also participated in the product operation of Resso.
According to the previous news, the App playback interface is the home page, which adopts the music switching mode of up and down, and will use video dynamics as the background in the playback interface, and also has a unique "listening mode", which can flash and other special effects in the playback interface according to the rhythm of music.
It is said that soda music is similar to Tik Tok’s algorithm, and adopts AI recommendation to intelligently push the music library to users. It is worth noting that Resso has a podcast function, and it is not excluded that the official version of soda music will also join the podcast function.
In addition, in the song recommendation mode, this independent music player focuses on "full single recommendation", that is, the whole App only pushes singles, and songs, albums and so on are not recommended.
Previously, it was reported that the project was called "Bai Yueguang", which was jointly promoted by China Music Division of ByteDance and Tik Tok Music, and ByteDance invested no less than 1 billion yuan in copyright for the music project this year.
Earlier, it was reported that Byte plans to jointly promote the music business from two ends: music streaming media and copyright agency distribution. The former supports independent musicians to create differentiated music products by purchasing copyrights and linking with Tik Tok, while the latter enjoys the share brought by music agency distribution by becoming the copyright manager and distributor.
